What makes a cold email compelling?
You can’t always sit and wait for customers to find your company. Sometimes you have to put in the work to find them. What’s one way to do that? A cold email.
Maybe you’ve heard it can be a great outreach tool and you’re thinking about trying it, or perhaps you’ve already tried but quit in frustration.
Regardless of your experience with cold email, there’s good news. You can succeed with it, and we have five tips to help you:
1. Tailor your email to your reader.
Always personalize your cold emails. Tailor your message to your readers, use their names and discuss their specific challenges. Additionally, show them how you can help solve these problems.
2. Show your reader what your company is capable of.
Since this contact isn’t familiar with your brand, you’ll need to earn their trust.
Focus on their pain point early in your message, and let them know that you have a solution. To help prove your expertise, provide relevant credentials, case studies and a testimonial.
3. Keep your message concise.
You want them to take the time to read your cold email. They won’t if it means reading a long, drawn-out message. Make it brief and easy to read.
4. Include a compelling call to action.
Your goal is to persuade your reader to take action. For example, an email reply back to you, a phone call or a visit to your website are all great goals for a cold email.
Hint:?Make sure you give them a good reason to take action.
5. Don’t forget the follow-up.
Kudos for incorporating cold email into your outreach strategy. Don’t forget to follow up on it though.
